Mistakes you shouldn’t make when wedding dress shopping

Every bride-to-be dreams about her dress and often rushes to get it, but before hitting the boutique, you should read our advice to avoid some mistakes.
- GO SHOPPING TO EARLY
Too many brides jump into the first wedding dress boutique before anything else… Don’t be too impatient, taking time is always a good thing! It is very important to have the main details of your wedding day in place before you can truly shop for a gown. In fact, many factors can influence the style of the dress and new ideas can come up while you’re wedding planning.
- TRYING ON TOO MANY DRESSES
Most of the time, a bride trying on dresses after dresses, is just a “not well prepared” bride, and that can be a big mistake. In fact, if you are trying on too many dresses without finding the right one it is undoubtedly because you are missing some VIBI (Very Important Bride Information) like your morphology, fashion trend, colorimetry, your theme, etc. As a wedding expert, I always go dress shopping with my clients accompanied by one of our image consultant or personal shopper.
- SHOPPING ONLINE
Internet…what a fabulous invention isn’t it? But when it comes to wedding dresses, I say NO to the web. Your dress is one of the masterpieces of this unforgettable-to-be day and cannot be neglected. You need to know and make sure the color matches what you expect if the material is of good quality, that the size is the right one to avoid extra alteration cost; unfortunately, internet can’t give you this guarantee. As a bride-to-be, you have to try on dresses in person, before purchasing.
- BRINGING AN ENTOURAGE
We already know it is probably the most important dress you will ever wear, and you want it to be absolutely perfect. But having a dozen of different opinions makes it much harder than you could imagine and it definitely could bring you farther away from what you actually wish. At AMC, we think that brides-to-be do best with just their mom and maybe a sister or best friend and of course a wedding professional.
- JUMPING ON DEEP DISCOUNT
Wedding dress sales are very popular among brides, but you must keep in mind that too cheap of a price might mean an already sampled one, a damaged one, or even one with cheap quality. In these cases, you could lose more than what you think… alternation costs, repairs, and in the worst cases be obligated to buy another dress.
